Catherine Roberts-Straw

Catherine Roberts-Straw joined WJEC in 2009. As Assistant Director of Strategy, she leads WJEC's strategic direction in both England and Wales playing a key role in supporting and developing existing and new markets for qualifications. Catherine is also responsible for the corporate approach to risk management, WJEC's Marketing and Communications strategy, and stakeholder engagement in England.

After graduating from the University of Kent, Catherine joined Barclays bank on their graduate training program. Her most recent roles at Barclays included Assistant Director of Strategy and Planning, subsequently progressing to Relationship and Channel Director at Barclaycard, followed by four years as Sales Director at First Plus where she was a finalist in the Welsh Woman of the Year Management achievement category. Catherine has an MBA from London Business School and is also a graduate of the University of Grenoble, France. Originally from the Swansea valley, Catherine is a fluent Welsh speaker and also speaks other languages including French and German.
