Helena Hellgren

Helena Hellgren is an experienced legal professional specializing in data privacy, intellectual property law, and information security. Currently serving as the Head of Data Privacy and DPO at EF Education First since March 2013, Helena leads compliance efforts for personal data across all markets and products while advising on legal matters related to new technologies and data privacy. Prior roles include Group Legal Counsel at EF, where Helena specialized in cross-border advice and contract negotiations, achieving significant improvements in contract review processes and risk management. Helena has also held positions as IP Legal Counsel at EF, Associate at MAQS Law Firm—where notable contributions included involvement in a landmark copyright case against The Pirate Bay—and as a law clerk in both Södertälje District Court and the Enforcement Agency. Helena holds an LLM in Law from Stockholm University, earned between 2002 and 2007.
