Roberto Marcoccia

Roberto Marcoccia is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in engineering and technology development in the optical communications sector. Currently serving as CEO and Chief Development and Strategy Officer at EFFECT Photonics since January 2021, Roberto has previously held significant roles at Juniper Networks, including Vice President Engineering for Silicon Photonics and leading various teams in the Office of the CTO. Prior to their tenure at Juniper, Roberto held leadership positions at Opnext, StrataLight Communications, Calient Networks, Wavespan, Xircom, and Condor Systems, demonstrating a strong track record in research and development, project management, and team building across various technology organizations. Notably, Roberto has been instrumental in pioneering advancements such as the first nationwide deployment of 40G optical transport in AT&T's core backbone and high-performance engineering teams.
