Russell Fuerst

Russell Fuerst has extensive work experience in the field of photonics and optics. Russell is currently serving as the Vice President of Digital Signal Processing at EFFECT Photonics since 2022. Prior to this, they held the role of Vice President and General Manager at ViaSat - Cleveland from 2005. From 2001 to 2003, they worked as the Manager of Optical Product Development at Molecular Optoelectronics Corp (MOEC). Before that, from 1999 to 2001, they served as a Senior Staff Technologist at JDS Uniphase - ElectroOptics Products Division.

Russell Fuerst pursued their education in a chronological manner, starting with their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Applied Physics at Case Western Reserve University. Russell attended this institution from 1991 to 1995. Following this, they furthered their educational journey at the University of Central Florida, where they obtained their Ph.D. in Optics. This period of their academic career spanned from 1995 to 1999.
