Brian McIlroy has over 18 years of experience in various leadership roles in the biotechnology and life sciences industries. Currently, they serve as the Vice President of Operations at Efferent Labs, where they oversee the implementation of corporate systems to stimulate growth. Brian also held several positions at GE, including Managing Director of Alliance Management at GE Ventures and Commercial Development Leader - Healthcare at GE IdeaWorks. Brian's tenure at GE Global Research involved roles such as Technology Leader, Clinical Systems & Devices and Principal Scientist. Earlier in their career, they were the Senior Bioinstrumentation Leader at GE Global Research Center, Director of Clinical Science Management at Light Sciences Corporation, and Director of Science at Pitt County Memorial Hospital. Overall, Brian McIlroy has a diverse and extensive background in operations, management, and innovation in the biotechnology and life sciences sectors.

Brian McIlroy obtained a BSc (hons) degree in Laser Physics from the University of St Andrews, from 1990 to 1994. Following this, they pursued a PhD in Medical Biophysics, specifically in the field of Photodynamic Therapy, from 1994 to 1998 at the University of London.
