Joel Choo

Joel Choo is a highly experienced data science professional with a strong background in AI and analytics. Currently serving as Lead Data Scientist and Director at EFG International since January 2024, Joel leads a team focused on developing innovative AI solutions, including GenAI and ML initiatives. Previously, as Senior Data Scientist at Credit Suisse, Joel developed sophisticated NLP/NLU solutions and deep learning systems for private banking. Joel's earlier roles include Data Scientist at SGX, where notable contributions involved market microstructure simulations and anomaly detection, as well as experience as a Business Analyst at OMRON Asia Pacific and Data Analyst at SingHealth. Joel holds a Bachelor of Science in Statistics from the National University of Singapore and a Master's in Information Technology with a focus on Business Analytics from Singapore Management University.
