Marcel Gort

Marcel Gort has had a long and varied career in the technology industry. Marcel began their career in 2005 as a C/C++/Fortran Compiler Service Analyst at IBM, where they were responsible for debugging, compiling, and analyzing test-cases in C, C++, and Fortran, as well as acting as a liaison between customers and developers and writing technical reports and documenting customer problems. In 2007, they moved on to the University of British Columbia as an M.A.Sc. Student, before continuing their studies at the University of Toronto in 2009 as a Ph.D. Candidate. Marcel then joined Altera in 2013 as a Member of Technical Staff and Senior Design Engineer. In 2015, they moved on to Intel Corporation as a Member of Technical Staff, and most recently, in 2018, they joined Efinix, Inc. as a Director and Principal Engineer.

Marcel Gort attended Western University from 2002 to 2007, where they earned a B.Eng. in Computer Engineering. Marcel then attended The University of British Columbia from 2007 to 2009, where they earned an M.A.Sc. in Computer Engineering. Finally, they attended the University of Toronto from 2009 to 2013, where they earned a PhD in Computer Engineering.
