Michael (Weiyu) Zhao has worked for a variety of companies since 2016. In 2016, they were a Student Researcher at the University of Toronto, where they assisted research in ambulance response time optimization based on the roads of Dhaka, handling creation and analysis of map data. In 2017, they were a Hardware Engineering Intern at Istuary Innovation Group, where they worked on ASIC design and verification for an IoT chip, as well as development of power intent with the Unified Power Format (UPF) and automated UPF generation with a Perl script and configuration file. Michael (Weiyu) also worked as a Student Researcher at the University of Toronto, where they created Python scripts to automate queries for data collection and convert decision tree models into source (.js, .py, etc.). In 2018, they were an SerDes Applications Intern at Xilinx, where they developed Python scripts automating User Guide table generation with MongoDB, created Microblaze emulation platform to emulate and test new generation microprocessor, and supported customers using Xilinx transceivers by addressing and verifying customer concerns on hardware. In 2020, they were a HLS Compiler Engineer at Microchip Technology Inc. and a Software Engineer at LegUp Computing. Currently, they are a Software Engineer at Efinix, Inc.
Michael (Weiyu) Zhao obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto between 2015 and 2020.
