Chris Vervliet

Chris Vervliet is a seasoned professional in risk management and finance, currently serving as a Senior Risk Manager at KBC Asset Management since May 2004. In March 2024, Chris became a member of the EFRAG Capital Market Advisory Panel, providing advice on sustainability reporting standards for financial institutions. Additionally, Chris is a member of the ESMA Stakeholder Group, representing the financial sector's labor interests. Since January 2019, Chris has held dual roles as Mayor of Boutersem, Belgium, and as a senior risk advisor with Boutersem and KBC AM. Chris has published works on various topics, including sustainability and tourism in South Africa, and has been involved in municipal governance since 2004. Academic qualifications include a Doctorate in Political Science and an MBA from KU Leuven, among other degrees.
