Amal Emam

Amal Emam is an accomplished leader in humanitarian and health sectors, currently serving as CEO, a.i. and Deputy CEO of the Egyptian Red Crescent since 2017. Emam has extensive experience with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) since 2016, holding multiple roles including Regional Youth Engagement and Volunteering Development Senior Officer. Emam's involvement with UNESCO includes a position on the Youth Commission from 2021 to 2024. Previous roles include Project Manager for various health-related projects at the Egyptian Red Crescent and Health Specialist at the Ministry of Health & Population in Egypt. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Ain Shams University, a Master’s degree in Medicine, multiple diplomas in humanitarian diplomacy and negotiation, and fellowship training in intercultural dialogue.
