Rukayat Yunusa has a diverse range of work experience in the pharmaceutical field. Rukayat started their career as a Community Pharmacist at Zinom Pharma Ltd in September 2015. Rukayat then worked as a Pharmacy Intern at Federal teaching hospital, Gombe from August 2015 to August 2016.

In December 2016, Rukayat joined the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital as a Hospital Pharmacist.
