Alan Xian Ji

Scientist at Eidos Therapeutics

Alan Xian Ji has a diverse work experience in the field of biochemistry. Alan Xian started their career as a Customer Service and Sales Representative at RONA in 2006. Alan Xian then worked as a Summer Student at Queen's University in 2007 and as a Project Student there in 2008, where they focused on the structural and functional characterization of enzymes. Alan Xian gained expertise in protein purification, crystallization, and mutagenesis.

In 2009, Alan joined the University of Toronto, Department of Biochemistry as a Graduate Student. During their time there, they also served as a Teaching Assistant and Mentor, supervising undergraduate students in experimental setup, data analysis, and various biochemical techniques. One of the students they mentored contributed to a publication.

In 2014, Alan worked as a Reviewer for IUCr Journals, where they reviewed scientific articles. Alan Xian then joined Quartz Therapeutics in 2017 as a Senior Scientist. Currently, they are working at Eidos Therapeutics since 2018 as a Scientist.

Alan Xian Ji completed their education with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry from the University of Toronto, which they pursued from 2009 to 2017. Prior to that, from 2005 to 2009, they obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry from Queen's University. In 2012, they also attended the 2nd Annual Mx Data Collection School at the Canadian Light Source in Saskatoon, where they focused on the field of Biochemistry, although they did not earn a degree specifically for that program.
