Monica Gangal

Monica Gangal has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on clinical operations. Monica is currently Vice President of Clinical Operations at Eiger BioPharmaceuticals, Inc., a position they have held since March 2020. Prior to that, they were the VP of Clinical Operations at AzurRx BioPharma, Inc. from June 2018 to March 2020. Monica also worked at Anthera Pharmaceuticals, where they held various roles including VP of Clinical Operations from May 2017 to April 2018, Senior Director of Clinical Operations from May 2013 to May 2017, and Director of Clinical Operations from May 2011 to April 2013. Before joining Anthera Pharmaceuticals, they worked as a Senior Clinical Trial Manager at Cetero Research from 2009 to 2011 and as a Trial Delivery Manager (Oncology) at AstraZeneca from October 2008 to October 2009. Monica started their career at VinCro Clinical Management Services as an International Study Manager for GSK from January 2006 to October 2008. Monica also worked at Health Canada as a Research and Policy Development Officer for the Veterinary Drugs Directorate from April 2003 to May 2005. Monica Gangal completed their education with a focus in the field of science and engineering. From 1998 to 2003, they attended the University of Ottawa and earned a Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a specialization in Chemical Engineering. During the same period, they also pursued a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at the University of Ottawa, which they completed in 2002. Later, from 2005 to 2007, they furthered their studies at the University of Toronto Mississauga, where they obtained a Master's degree in Biotechnology.
