Barbara Howes (She/Her) has extensive experience in human resources and organizational development. Barbara currently serves as the Chief People Officer at Eikon Therapeutics since November 2021. Prior to that, Barbara held the role of Chief Human Resources Officer at Pliant Therapeutics from May 2019 to October 2021. Before joining Pliant Therapeutics, they ran their own consulting firm, Barbara Howes Consulting, as the Principal, from October 2014 to May 2019.

Barbara's earlier career includes working at Genentech as the Sr. Director of Learning & OD, Diversity and Inclusion from June 2008 to October 2014. Prior to that, they held the position of Vice President of Disney University at The Walt Disney Company from June 2003 to May 2008. Furthermore, Barbara has pursued further education at California Lutheran University, where they completed an MBA with an emphasis in Organization Behavior.
