Staff Engineer at Eikon Therapeutics

Bryant Chhun has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. Bryant is currently working as a Staff Engineer at Eikon Therapeutics since October 2021. Prior to this, they worked for three years as an R&D Engineer at CZ Biohub from June 2018 to October 2021.

In 2018, Bryant was an Artificial Intelligence Fellow at Insight Data Science, where they focused on image segmentation of 4D cardiac ultrasound data. Bryant tested simple neural nets and trained variants of U-nets on the data, demonstrating improvements in prediction accuracy.

Before that, Bryant was an Imaging Scientist at Singular Bio, Inc. from September 2015 to August 2017. Bryant then joined Carl Zeiss Microscopy as a Super Resolution Specialist from May 2011 to September 2015. In this role, they managed the North American territory and achieved consistent sales growth.

Bryant's career began as a Jr Specialist, Super-Resolution Microscopy at the University of California, San Francisco in January 2010. Bryant built and maintained a super-resolution PALM/STORM microscope and collaborated on research projects investigating Clathrin's role on Microtubules and the structural organization of pericentriolar matrix proteins.

During their time as a graduate student at the University of California, San Francisco from 2005 to 2009, Bryant focused on improving the time resolution of a structured illumination microscope for live-cell imaging. Bryant developed and tested a Structured Illumination Microscope using a ferroelectric spatial light modulator.

Bryant's educational background includes an undergraduate degree in Engineering Physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, which they completed from August 2001 to May 2005.

Bryant Chhun completed a B.S. in Engineering Physics and Chemistry from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they studied from 2001 to 2005. Following that, they pursued a Masters degree in Biophysics from the University of California, San Francisco, from 2005 to 2009.
