Robert Sands M.D.

Robert Sands MD has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Robert is currently serving as the VP and Head of Medical Affairs at Eisai EMEA since January 2022. Before this role, they worked as the Executive Medical Director and Global Oncology Medical Lead at Astellas Pharma from March 2021 to January 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Executive Medical Director and Head of Oncology at Astellas Pharma Europe for nearly 8 years, from July 2014 to January 2022. Robert also worked at Sanofi, where they served as the Global Project Head from June 2010 to May 2014, and as the Head of Medical Affairs from January 2003 to May 2010.

Robert Sands MD received their Medical Degree (MD) in Medicine from Imperial College London from 1997 to 1999. Robert also completed a Certificate in Translational Medicine in Pharmaceutical Medicine at The University of Edinburgh in 2009. Robert obtained a Certificate of Completion in Pharmaceutical Medicine from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine, UK from 2000 to 2005. In addition, they received the MRCOG degree in Medicine from the Royal College of O&G UK from 1990 to 1993. Prior to that, they completed their MBChB degree in Medicine at the University of Cape Town from 1982 to 1987. Robert completed their matriculation degree at Rondebosch Boys High School, Cape Town from 1977 to 1981.
