Sam Lain-Rose is the current Governor at EKC Group. Prior to this, they served as Engagement Officer (South Kent) at The Education People from February 2019 to September 2019. In this role, they were responsible for acting as the face of the company's service for schools, employers, young people and their families in the Ashford, Dover, Folkestone & Hythe districts. They managed and maintained relationships with stakeholders to ensure that everyone worked collaboratively towards improving outcomes for young people.

Lain-Rose is skilled in communicating effectively with people of all ages and backgrounds. They are able to adjust their communication style to suit the needs of their audience or client. They are also experienced in managing expectations and balancing objectives.

Lain-Rose is knowledgeable about education policy, both nationally and locally. They keep up to date with developments in their local area so that they can provide young people with the best opportunities for employment and further education.

In their previous role, Lain-Rose worked with colleagues in other services to reduce the number of NEET (Not in Employment, Education or Training) and Not Known young people. They achieved this by working collaboratively to understand each client's needs. As a result of their efforts, they were able to reduce the number of NEET and Not Known young people in Dover to a new record-breaking low.

Sam Lain-Rose's educational career includes a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from The Open University, a Customer Service Level 3 Apprenticeship from West Kent College, and a Business & Administration Level 2 Apprenticeship from West Kent College. Sam also has certification from Maidstone Borough Council as a Personal Licence Holder.
