Charles-Henri Nicolas

Charles-Henri Nicolas is a Biobased Industry Expert at EKIUM, specializing in front-end design studies since January 2025. Previously, Charles-Henri served at Arbiom from September 2012 to June 2025 in various capacities including VP of Industrial Deployment, overseeing the preparation of a 10kt/year fermentation plant project with a budget of 60M€ and securing over 20M€ in funding. As Project Manager for a wood-to-food demonstration program, responsibilities included managing a 30M€ budget, coordinating a consortium of nine partners, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Charles-Henri's early career included roles as a Senior R&D Engineer and R&D Engineer focused on biorefinery processes, as well as research roles at Renault and IRCELYON, culminating in a PhD in Chemistry from Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1.
