George Mathew

George Mathew is an experienced professional in the fields of machine learning and artificial intelligence, currently serving as the Director of Algorithms at Eko since April 2022, focusing on foundation models for cardiovascular disease detection. Prior roles include Team Lead for AI Applications at Graphcore, where significant contributions were made to MLCommons/MLPerf benchmarks and various speech-related models, and as a Staff/Lead Machine Learning Scientist at iRhythm Technologies, Inc., specializing in deep learning for arrhythmia detection. With a solid foundation in autonomous systems and fluid dynamics, George has held various research and technical positions across esteemed organizations, complemented by advanced education culminating in a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from UC Santa Barbara.
