Monique Brown has extensive experience in veteran outreach and support, currently serving as a Veterans Outreach Specialist at El Centro De La Raza since June 2017, where outreach for homeless veterans and assistance with housing processes is conducted. As the Founder and CEO of FOB Hope, established in January 2016, Monique leads efforts to address the personal care needs of homeless and at-risk veterans through a nonprofit organization. Monique's prior roles include serving as a combat stress recovery program specialist at Wounded Warrior Project and another stint as a Veterans Outreach Specialist at El Centro De La Raza from April 2014 to November 2016. Additionally, Monique served in the US Army from September 1987 to November 2013, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant and holding the position of Food Service NCOIC at JBLM. Monique holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from the University of Phoenix and has education in the same field from Los Angeles City College.

El Centro de la Raza is a voice and a hub for Seattle and Martin Luther King, Jr. County’s Latino community as we advocate on behalf of our people and work to achieve social justice. Through our comprehensive programs and services, we empower members of the Latino community as fully participating members of society. We also work to raise awareness with the general public, and government, business and civic leaders about the needs of the Chicano/Latino community in the United States.
