José San Román A. de Lara serves as the Group Chief Technology Officer (GCTO) at El Corte Inglés since October 2024. Previously, José held the position of Tech Transformation Director at ING Australia between February 2023 and October 2024. Prior roles at ING España & Portugal from November 2005 to January 2023 included Chief Information Officer (CIO), Director of Engineering, Director of IT Governance, Head of Quality Assurance & Methodology, and Software Architect. Earlier in José's career, positions included Especialista en tecnología de la información at Vector Software Factory, Software Engineer at Grupo Oesía and Qarana, and Software Engineer at Telefónica Investigación y Desarrollo. José holds an advanced degree in Computer Engineering from Universidad de Valladolid and a diploma in Computer Engineering from Universidad de Salamanca, along with further education at IESE Business School.
