El Futuro
Melissa Amador, MSW, LCSWA, is a dedicated mental health professional currently serving as a Bilingual Outpatient Therapist at El Futuro since August 2021. Previously, Melissa completed a MSW internship at Duke University Hospital, where responsibilities included conducting psychosocial assessments, developing interventions, and collaborating with healthcare teams to improve care for patients with Sickle Cell Disease. Prior experience includes an Educational Attainment Internship at Partners for Youth Opportunity, advocating for students facing socio-economic barriers, and serving as a Research Assistant at Appalachian State University. Melissa holds a Master of Social Work degree from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Appalachian State University.
