Vanessa Tena

Vanessa Tena, MBA, currently serves as the Public Affairs Director for the Sheriff's Department at El Paso County, a position held since December 2022, and also holds the title of Senior Policy Advisor to the County Judge. Prior to this, Vanessa was a Senior Advertising Account Executive at Spectrum Reach from January 2017 to December 2022, and has experience from roles such as a Graduate Student at The University of Texas at El Paso, Director of Sales and Marketing at El Paso's Cornmaze, and Media Intern at Sanders\Wingo. Early in the career, Vanessa gained valuable insights in public relations as an intern at Ghostlight Creative and developed event coordination skills at Univision Communications Inc. Educationally, Vanessa earned a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership and two Bachelor's degrees in Media Advertising/Communication/Business from The University of Texas at El Paso.
