Ajay Nair

Ajay Nair is an accomplished technology leader currently serving as Group VP of Platform at Elastic since March 2024, overseeing engineering teams for core Elastic services including ElasticSearch and Kibanna. Prior to this role, Ajay held various leadership positions at Amazon Web Services (AWS) from February 2014 to March 2024, including General Manager for AWS Lambda and Director of Product and Engineering, where Ajay managed extensive teams and was instrumental in shaping the serverless product strategy. Ajay's experience also includes significant roles at Microsoft within the Bing division, focusing on big data platforms, and earlier work as a Programmer Analyst at Syntel Inc. Ajay's educational background includes a Master’s degree in Information Systems Management from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics from the University of Kerala.
