David Dowling has a range of work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. David began their career in 2001 at Glanbia Foods, where they worked in production support for two years. In 2003, they joined Elavon Europe as a Call Support Manager and remained in that position until January 2015. During their time at Elavon Europe, they held several roles, including Head of EU Operations Production Support, Compliance Manager - Conduct Of Business, and Global Head of customer Restitution-Vice President. Currently, David is serving as the Global Head of Customer Assurance (Payments) - SVP at Elavon Europe, responsible for managing complaint handling, customer remediation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements across various regions.

David Dowling has a diverse education history. David holds a Professional Certificate in Compliance from University College Dublin, the field of study for which is Professional Certificate in Compliance. In 2020, they obtained a Regulated Complaints Management degree from The Chartered Banker Institute, specializing in Regulated Complaints Management. From 2019 to 2020, they attended The London Institute of Banking & Finance, where they focused on Conduct Risk. In the same year, they also completed a Consumer Protection Risk, Culture & Ethical Behaviour degree from University College Dublin, with a field of study in Compliance & Risk.

Furthermore, David holds a PRMIA -Professional Certificate in Conduct Risk, Culture & Operational Risk Management from University College Dublin, which they acquired from 2018 to 2019, specializing in Compliance. David obtained a Business Management degree from Waterford Institute of Technology between 1998 and 2001, where their field of study was Business/Commerce, General. Currently, they are pursuing an MSc in Compliance from University College Dublin, with a focus on Risk & Compliance, spanning from 2020 to 2022.

David also obtained a Professional Diploma in Compliance from University College Dublin and has a field of study in Risk & Compliance. Most recently, in 2021, they earned a Certificate in Data Protection from University College Dublin, specializing in Data Protection.
