Darren Jones

Darren Jones has over 25 years of work experience in the software industry. Darren is currently working as a Principal Software Engineer at Elavon, Inc. since April 2018. Prior to that, they were a Senior Software Architect at GT Software from November 2015 to April 2018. Darren also held various roles at GT Software including Distributed Development Manager from June 2006 to October 2015, and Software Design Engineer from January 2004 to May 2006.

Before joining GT Software, Darren worked as a Senior Software Engineer at NCR Corporation from January 2002 to December 2003. Darren was responsible for leading the R&D team for the release of Advanced Checkout Solution (ACS), a graphical point of sale system. Darren also worked on designing and implementing new features and developing deployment solutions.

Darren has also worked at SYSGENS, Inc. as a Senior Software Consultant from February 1997 to December 2001. During their time there, they played a key role in releasing new versions of Advanced Checkout Solution (ACS) and worked on customer-specific features and bug fixes. Darren also contributed to the development of a frequent shopper subsystem.

Earlier in their career, Darren worked as a Software Engineer at Lotus Development from June 1995 to January 1997 and as a Programmer Analyst at NCR Corporation from March 1993 to June 1995.

Darren Jones completed their education with a Master of Science (MS) in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology from 1993 to 1995. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science from Clemson University, graduating in 1993. Additionally, they have a certification in "Front-end Foundations" from Code School, although the specific date of completion is unknown.
