Director, Communications & Strategic Services at Elections Ontario

Lynn W. has a diverse work experience spanning various government departments in Ontario. Lynn began their career in 2003 at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as a Bilingual Transcriber and Reporter for Hansard Reporting & Interpretation Services. From there, they worked at the Ontario Cabinet Office as a Bilingual Writer for the Premier of Ontario, Communications. In 2008, they joined the Ontario Treasury Board Secretariat as an Issues Coordinator and later became a Policy & Issues Coordinator in the Assistant Deputy Minister's Office. In 2014, they moved to the Ontario Ministry of Energy, where they served as a Media & Issues Officer and later as a Media Spokesperson & Team Lead in Media Relations. Lynn then transitioned to the Ontario Cabinet Office as a Senior Policy Advisor from 2015 to 2017. Lynn then joined the Ontario Ministry of International Trade as a Senior Strategic Communications Advisor for Marketing & Missions. Most recently, Lynn has been working at Elections Ontario as the Director of Communications & Strategic Services since 2018. Throughout their career, Lynn has gained extensive experience in communications, policy, and strategic services within the government sector.

Lynn W. completed their Bachelor's Degree in Honours French & International Relations (summa cum laude) from Western University from 1999 to 2003. During this time, they also obtained a Diplôme in Français des Affaires from Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie de Paris in 2002-2003. They further pursued their education at Université Côte d'Azur from 2001 to 2002, completing a Bachelor's Degree in langue et littérature françaises (XIXe et XXe siècles).

In terms of additional certifications, Lynn earned a Certificat in Français des Affaires from Western University in April 2003. They also pursued language programs including French Language & Linguistics (phonetics & phonology) at Université Laval in 2002, French Language & Linguistics (morphology & semantics) at Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières in 2001, and French Language & Culture at Université de Montréal in 2000.

Later, Lynn engaged in various continuing studies programs at the University of Toronto. In 2007, they completed a program in Publicity & Public Relations in the School of Continuing Studies. In 2016-2017, Lynn pursued Italian Studies, and in 2017, they completed a program in Leadership Essentials, both at the School of Continuing Studies of the University of Toronto.
