François Perras completed a Baccalauréat en ingénierie in Métallurgie from Université Laval in 2000, followed by a Diplôme d'ingénieur in Ingénierie métallurgique from the same university in the same year. In 1998-1999, they participated in a 1-year exchange program at Michigan Technological University in Metalurgical engineering. Later, in 2009, they obtained an MBA in Administration from Université de Sherbrooke.
