Kyle VanZandt currently serves as the Sr. Manager of Process Development Engineering and Staff Systems Engineer at Electra, where the focus is on decarbonizing iron and steelmaking using lower grade ores and intermittent renewable energy. Prior to this role, Kyle held multiple positions at Via Separations, including Applications Engineering Leader and Engineering Manager, concentrating on chemically robust membranes for energy reduction in industrial separations. Additional experience includes positions at Gradiant as a Process Applications Engineer, Oasys Water as a Sr. Process Engineer managing brine concentration projects, and Nuvera Fuel Cells in various roles, including Lead Process Engineer, where work centered on hydrogen purification and fuel cell systems. Kyle began a career in R&D at Sappi while obtaining a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maine.
