Ajay Kumar

Ajay Kumar has extensive work experience in various leadership roles within the technology industry. Ajay began their career as a Software Engineering Manager at Oracle in 1992 and later worked as a Practice Head for Enterprise and ERP Applications at Tata Consultancy Services from 1995 to 1997. From 1997 to 2001, Ajay served as a Partner for CIO Advisory, Digital Transformation, and Consulting at Fujitsu Americas. Ajay then joined Xerox in 2001 as a Senior Manager of Global IT Applications, where they led the development of a digital eCommerce platform and managed enterprise architecture and application development.

In 2004, Ajay joined Avnet, Inc. as the Global Senior Director of IT and Head of Enterprise Applications, Digital Transformation, and Cloud Services. During their tenure, they oversaw strategy, roadmap, portfolio management, delivery, and support, leveraging strategic IT-business partnerships.

From 2014 to 2019, Ajay worked at Verra Mobility, first as the Global Chief Information Officer (CIO) and later as the Vice President & CIO. In these roles, they developed a high-performing IT team, implemented IT best practices, and led digital and cloud product strategy.

From 2019 to 2023, Ajay worked at KPMG US as the CIO Advisory & Strategy Leader, specializing in IT strategy, mergers and acquisitions, digital transformation, and cybersecurity. Ajay developed multi-year digital IT strategies and roadmaps for various companies.

Ajay also held advisory board roles at HMG Strategy and the Arizona IT Symposium. Currently, they are the Chief Information Officer at ElectraMeccanica, an EV and automotive manufacturing company.

Ajay Kumar has a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science from the College of Engineering. Ajay also has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the W. P. Carey School of Business, Arizona State University. Additionally, they completed the Executive Leadership & Transformation Program at Stanford University Graduate School of Business. Ajay Kumar has obtained certifications in Agile Software Development: Cloud Architecture, Cybersecurity for Executives, Learning the AWS Well-Architected Framework, Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), PROSCI Certified - Organizational Change Leader, and Project Management Professional (PMP).
