Ari Umans has worked in the engineering field since 2012. In that year, they began as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Vishwa Robotics. In 2013, they held a Technical Undergraduate Summer Intern position at Sandia National Laboratories and a Graduate Researcher role at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). In 2014, they worked as an Independent Contractor at Open Water Power, Inc., modeling and optimizing manufacturable aluminum-fueled reactor components. In 2015, they moved to LiquiGlide as a Mechanical Design Engineer. In 2017, they took on the role of Senior Mechanical Engineer at Open Water Power. Most recently, in 2021, they began as a Senior Engineer at Electric Hydrogen Co., where they are helping to cost-effectively decarbonize the massive industrial sectors.

Ari Umans received a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) between 2009 and 2013. Ari then returned to MIT to earn a Master of Science (M.S.) in Mechanical Engineering, which they completed in 2015.
