Michael Buchman

Manager of New Product Integration at Electric Hydrogen Co.

Michael Buchman has worked in the engineering field since 2012. Michael began their career as an Intern at Infinium Metals, where they designed a condenser system for metal vapor. In 2012, they became an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for Thermal-Fluids Engineering II at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Michael then pursued their PhD at MIT, where their research focused on a novel method for turbocharging single-cylinder four-stroke internal combustion engines. In 2017, they became President of the MIT Maker Workshop, a student-run maker space dedicated to teaching, giving guidance, and providing access to the tools needed to successfully complete projects. In 2019, they joined Mainspring Energy as a Sr. Mechanical Engineer, working on design and analysis of key linear generator systems, engineering cost down improvements, and taking successful ownership of systems. Most recently, in 2022, they began working as a Staff Mechanical Engineering Architect at Electric Hydrogen Co.

Michael Buchman attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2009 to 2018, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 2013, a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2015, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering in 2018.
