Nick Black is an experienced professional in the fields of electric vehicle charging infrastructure and energy solutions, currently serving as the Head of EV Charging & Infrastructure Development at Ausgrid since March 2017. Over the years, Nick has held multiple leadership roles within Ausgrid, including Head of EV Charging Development and Manager of Commercial Innovation. Additionally, Nick serves as a Board Member for the Electric Vehicle Council since December 2023. Previous roles include Solutions Director at Landis+Gyr and various positions at Ausgrid and Alcatel-Lucent, where Nick began as a Graduate Engineer. Nick holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Telecommunications combined with a Bachelor of Business Finance from the University of Technology Sydney.

Electric Vehicle Council

The Australian Electric Vehicle Council is a representative body made up of participants from across the scope of electric vehicle industries, leading the push to increase the uptake of electric vehicles in Australia. Council members include representatives from the automotive, technology, energy, academic and consumer sectors. The goals of the Australian Electric Vehicle Council are to advocate for the electric vehicle industry in Australia at the national, state and local level, to drive the uptake of electric vehicles by: ● identifying and addressing the barriers to uptake; ● co-ordinating jurisdictional efforts (coming from both different governments and industries); ● facilitating the initial mass market by connecting demand to supply, and ● raising consumer awareness.
