Anurag Kamal

Co-Founder & CEO at ElectricFish

Anurag Kamal has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. In 2014, they worked as a Deputy Manager for Powertrain at Eicher Motors, where they were responsible for designing, prototyping, and validating automated manual transmission (AMT) drivelines for heavy and medium-duty bus applications.

In 2017, Anurag joined Michigan Technological University as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant. In this role, they developed an automated battery testing mini-lab for an NSF-funded project using raspberry pi. Anurag also mentored graduate students on various topics related to battery testing and modeling.

Anurag's interest in battery research led him to participate in the Wolfram Summer School in 2018 as a Student Researcher. Here, they worked on reducing the computational complexity of Li-ion battery electrochemical models and designed a neural network to predict solutions to partial differential equations more efficiently.

In 2019, Anurag joined BMW of North America as a Software Engineer. Anurag collaborated with Google Cloud and global startups to build pilots on novel computing methods like neuromorphic and quantum computing for battery modeling. Anurag also developed a MATLAB-based framework for a physics-based model, focusing on lithium-ion battery cells and pack for fast charging and racetrack discharge applications.

Anurag's expertise in battery research continued at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in 2020, where they worked as a Post Master's Research Associate. Their main focus was on simulating Lithium-ion batteries, eliminating the use of empirical parameters and incorporating aging mechanisms. Anurag also dealt with the uncertainties arising from the sensitive dependence of initial conditions in partial differential equations.

In 2021, Anurag became a Fellow at GPODS, working on global policy, diplomacy, and sustainability projects for a limited period.

Anurag's most recent role is as the Co-Founder and CEO of ElectricFish, a position they assumed in January 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Product and Strategy Lead for ElectricFish, starting in December 2020.

Anurag Kamal completed a Certificate Program in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Stanford University Graduate School of Business in the year 2020. Prior to that, it is not specified when they pursued their Master of Science (M.S.) in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University or when they obtained their Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra. However, between 2008 and 2010, Anurag attended Delhi Public School, Ranchi, where they completed their Higher Secondary X+2 education.
