Mike Childress

Mike Childress has a strong background in IT consulting and leadership roles. Mike is currently the Chief Technology Officer at ETC (Electronic Transaction Consultants) since March 2021. Prior to that, they were the President & Owner of James M Childress Consulting, LLC, where they provided IT consulting services and advised on strategy, architecture, and security. Notable engagements include working with Hawaiian Airlines on an IT operating model overhaul and multi-year IT plan, as well as collaborating with Bank of Montreal to formulate a five-year IT strategy and introduce DevOps processes.

Before their consulting work, Mike served as the Leader of Application Development at Hawaiian Airlines from July 2019 to March 2021. Mike also held a role as an Affiliate at The Feld Group Institute from March 2009 to March 2021, training business leaders and IT professionals in business transformation and architecture-driven enterprises.

Earlier in their career, Mike was the Vice President - Portfolio & Engineering at Electronic Data Systems from March 2004 to February 2009, where they oversaw business development, standardized architectures, and led product development teams. Mike also served as the SVP - Applications Development at Delta Air Lines from March 1996 to March 2004. Overall, Mike has a wealth of experience in IT leadership and consulting, with a focus on driving business transformation and introducing innovative technologies and processes.

Mike Childress attended Texas A&M University from 1984 to 1988, where they earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a concentration in Business Analysis & Research - Computer Information Systems.
