Roxanne Carruthers-Smith

Roxanne Carruthers-Smith has extensive work experience spanning over two decades. Roxanne currently works as a Project Manager at Electrum since 2021. Prior to this, Roxanne served as an IT Delivery Manager at Virgin Active from 2018 to 2021, where they managed projects and implemented reporting systems. Roxanne briefly worked as a Project Manager at Bytes Systems Integration in 2018, where they built an Agile team and established business reporting structures.

From 2011 to 2018, Roxanne held various roles at payd, a division of Clickatell, including Programme Manager, Project Manager, Project Operations Manager, Program Manager, and Technical Operations Co-ordinator. Roxanne was responsible for managing programs, coordinating technical operations, and ensuring project success.

Earlier in their career, Roxanne worked as a Technical Operations Center Project Manager at Web Africa from 2008 to 2011. Roxanne also gained experience as a Procurement Officer at Frogfoot Networks in 2008 and as a Service Desk Coordinator at Datacentrix from 2004 to 2008.

Roxanne's career began as a Shop Assistant at Must be a Mustang Internet Lounge in 2004, where they assisted customers and maintained the network. Prior to that, they served as a Trainee Technician/Helpdesk Operator/Relief Receptionist at Maseco Bytes IT Solutions from 2002 to 2004.

Roxanne Carruthers-Smith has a diverse education history with a focus on organizational leadership, project management, and business/commerce. In 2014-2015, they attended Towerstone and completed an Advanced Diploma in Organizational Leadership, specializing in Organizational Leadership at NQF level 7. Roxanne also pursued various certifications during this time, including becoming a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) through Scrum Alliance in 2015.

In 2013, Roxanne attended Quintica and studied ITIL, and in 2012-2013, they completed an Agile Certified Practitioner program through SimpliLearn, focusing on project management. Roxanne also took a course in commercial negotiation at the University of Stellenbosch in 2011.

During 2010, Roxanne pursued several certifications and professional development courses. Roxanne obtained a CompTIA Project+ certification from CompTIA and completed MS Project 2007 Level 1 and Level 2 courses at New Horizons. Additionally, they participated in training programs at Bandwidth Barn for effective management, time management, and project management. Roxanne also studied Project Management at Intec College in 2009.

Furthermore, Roxanne holds certifications from various institutions. Roxanne obtained a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification from Microsoft in 2003 and a CompTIA A+ certification from CompTIA in 2002. In 2019, they obtained a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification from the Project Management Institute. Roxanne also acquired the Scrum Master certification from the International Scrum Institute in 2019 and an ITIL Foundations certification from APMG International in 2013.

Recently, in 2021-2023, Roxanne is furthering their education by pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree with a specialization in Business/Commerce, General at Regent Business School.
