Kieran Hervold

Kieran Hervold has been working in the field of bioinformatics since 1999. Kieran began their career as a Web Developer at Linuxcare in 1999. In 2005, they became an Undergraduate Research Assistant at San Francisco State University, where they created the Hedgehog Signaling Pathway Database and completed bioinformatics analysis of members of the Patched family of receptor proteins. In 2006, they moved to Xoma as a Bioinformatics Programmer / Analyst III. In 2009, they joined Takeda San Francisco as a Senior Informatics Associate. In 2012, they became a Senior Software Developer at Adaptive Biotechnologies Corp. In 2015, they took on the role of Bioinformatics Software Engineer at Twist Bioscience. In 2018, they moved to Distributed Bio Inc as a Senior Bioinformatics Developer. Finally, in 2019, they joined Invitae as a Bioinformatics Developer and is currently employed there. In 2022, they will be moving to ELEGEN as a Staff Bioinformatics Developer.

Kieran Hervold attended San Francisco State University from 2004 to 2006, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Cell & Molecular Biology.
