Minyong Chung

Minyong Chung has had a diverse range of roles and experiences throughout their career. Minyong is currently working at ELEGEN as the Sr. Director of Operations, a position they have held since June 2022. Prior to that, from 2019 to June 2022, they worked as the Director of Operations at ArsenalBio, where they contributed to the discovery, development, and commercialization of curative immune cell therapies.

Before joining ArsenalBio, Minyong Chung worked at GRAIL, Inc. from 2016 to 2019. During their time there, they held the positions of Associate Director of Lab Operations and Research Operations Manager. In these roles, they oversaw various aspects of lab operations and managed research projects.

From 2015 to 2016, Minyong Chung worked at Verily Life Sciences as a Hardware Engineer. In this position, they played a key role in setting up and operating a population-scale genomics facility. Minyong also developed protocols, standard operating procedures, and automated workflows.

Prior to Verily Life Sciences, Minyong Chung worked at UC Berkeley from 2011 to 2015. Minyong held the position of Director of Vincent J. Coates Genomics Sequencing Lab and later served as a Staff Research Associate III/Interim Manager. In these roles, they were involved in massively parallel DNA sequencing, Illumina Array services, and biospecimen processing.

Minyong Chung's earlier experiences include working as a Research Assistant at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory from 2011 to 2012, and as a Sales/Customer Service/Laboratory Technician at Elim Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. from 2010 to 2011. Minyong also served as the Site Director for Bears United In Literacy Development at UC Berkeley CalCorp in 2009.

Minyong Chung attended the University of California, Berkeley from 2006 to 2009. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Molecular Cell Biology with a focus on Infectious Disease. Additionally, they also completed a minor in Education.
