Janne Nord

Janne Nord has a strong background in research and development, with expertise in computational materials science and optimization algorithms. Janne started their career in research at the Accelerator Laboratory of the University of Helsinki, where they focused on developing interatomic potential models for semiconductor materials and simulating irradiation damage using high-performance computing. In 2004, they joined Varian Medical Systems as a Research Scientist and Software Engineer, eventually progressing to roles as a Team Leader, Manager of Optimization Algorithms, and Manager of Planning Algorithms & Platform. During their time at Varian, they led teams responsible for the research, development, and maintenance of optimization and machine learning algorithms, contributing to commercial products such as RapidArc and RapidPlan. In 2019, Janne joined Elekta, taking on roles as an Engineering Technical Lead, Advanced Development Engineering Manager, and currently as the Director of Advanced Development Engineering.

Janne Nord has a PhD in Physics from the University of Helsinki.
