Maxwell Wood, Ph.D.

Battery Algorithms Engineer at Element Energy

Maxwell Wood, Ph.D. has a diverse range of work experience. Maxwell started their career as a Langley Aerospace Research Summer Intern at NASA, where they worked on thin film projects using Molecular Beam Epitaxy. In 2013, Maxwell served as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Ames Laboratory, where they explored new phase spaces and researched undiscovered crystals with unique superconducting and magnetic properties.

From 2015 to 2020, Maxwell worked as a Research Assistant at Northwestern University, contributing to various research projects. Following this, they joined NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory as a Postdoctoral Researcher, conducting research until 2022. During this time, they gained valuable experience in their field.

In 2022, Maxwell took on the role of a Teaching Assistant at Metis, where they assisted in teaching responsibilities. Later that year, they joined Element Energy as a Battery Algorithms Engineer, where they currently work.

Maxwell Wood, Ph.D., has a diverse education history. In 2022, they completed a Boot Camp in Data Science and Machine Learning at Metis. Prior to that, they attended Northwestern University from 2015 to 2020, where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Materials Science. Their undergraduate studies were at Iowa State University, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering from 2011 to 2015. Before their college years, Maxwell attended Manson Northwest Webster High School from 2007 to 2011.

Additionally, Maxwell holds two additional certifications. In October 2021, they obtained the certification in Applied Machine Learning: Algorithms from LinkedIn. Maxwell also completed the Machine Learning with Python: Foundations certification from LinkedIn in the same month and year.
