Hadi Ghasemi

Hadi Ghasemi has a diverse work experience in both academia and industry. Hadi co-founded Elemental Coatings in 2017, where they focused on developing surface protective coatings to improve the functionality of various systems. Prior to this, Hadi held positions at the University of Houston, starting as a Bill D. Cook Assistant Professor in 2014 and later becoming a Cullen Associate Professor in 2019. Hadi'sresearch at the university involved mathematical modeling, simulation, and experimentation in thermo-fluid systems with a focus on efficient energy harvesting. Hadi also gained valuable research experience as a Postdoctoral Associate at MIT from 2011 to 2014, where their work encompassed renewable energy system optimization and nano-scale thermal transport. Hadi began their research career as a Research Assistant at the University of Toronto, where they studied the interface roles of pure water droplets in equilibrium and non-equilibrium behaviors. Overall, Hadi's work experience demonstrates their strong background in surface protection, energy harvesting, and thermal transport research.

Hadi Ghasemi's education history begins with their Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Science and Technology from the Iran University of Science and Technology, which they obtained from 1999 to 2004. Hadi then pursued a Master of Applied Science (MASC) degree in Materials Science and Engineering at the Sharif University of Technology from 2004 to 2006. Following this, Hadi Ghasemi attended the University of Toronto from 2007 to 2011, where they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Heat Transfer and Surface Physics. Lastly, from 2012 to 2014, they joined the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and engaged in post-doctorate research in Nanotechnology and Nano Engineering.
