Marisa L. Zocco

Marisa L. Zocco has had a varied and extensive work experience. In 2007, they were the Director of Communications at Power PR, where they provided administrative support to the Vice President of Administration, distributed and managed email marketing materials, and negotiated a database price from $12,500 for 25,000 contacts to $12,500 for 100,000 contacts. In 2009, they worked at Profusion PR as a Publicist and Contributing Writer, writing a case history that was published in multiple trade magazines and coordinating with editors to secure coverage of client feature stories in multiple industrial manufacturing trade publications. In 2013, they worked as a Freelance Writer for Self-Employed. From 2015-2018, they worked at Intersections South LA as a Managing Editor, integrating a stand-alone community-based publication to a section of USCAnnenbergMedia.com and developing community engagement initiatives digitally and on the ground. In 2018, they worked at elephant journal as a Mentor and Editorial Apprentice. Finally, from 2019 until present, they have worked at elephant journal as a Managing Editor, Co-Managing Editor, Associate Editor, and Editor.

Marisa L. Zocco completed a Bachelor's Degree in Print and Digital Journalism and English from the University of Southern California between 2013 and 2016. Prior to that, they completed an Associate's Degree in English - Creative Writing from Long Beach City College between 2010 and 2013. In 2004 and 2005, they obtained a Massage Technician Certification from The Institute of Psycho-structural Balancing in the field of Massage Therapy/Therapeutic Massage.
