Amar Singh has a diverse work experience in various industries. In 2003, they worked as a Sales Consultant at Synnex Canada. From 2004 to 2006, they were a Project Manager/Consultant at Magnus Associates, where they implemented the Biotron Experimental Climate Change Research Centre and subsequently became its General Manager. From 2006 to 2008, they worked as a Project and General Manager at Western University's Biotron Experimental Climate Change Research Centre. In 2009, they were a Sustainability Project Specialist at Infrastructure Ontario, where they developed green building standards and a sustainability performance management system. From 2011 to 2017, they worked as a Project Manager at Colliers Project Leaders, handling various projects in the education, energy, and real estate sectors. In 2016, they founded watercountdown.org, a platform that aggregates and visualizes data on global water scarcity events. Amar also worked as a Tech Venture Builder at e@UBC, leading an R&D team in developing a wireless sensor platform. In 2016, they became the CEO of Elevated Signals, a company that provides AI-enabled ERP software for high-value product companies. Amar also participated in the Creative Destruction Lab's venture program from 2017 to 2018 with Elevated Signals. Additionally, they have experience as a Coach & Competitor at Alliance Vancouver Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Amar Singh has a diverse education history. In 1991, they began their middle and high school education at the American Embassy School in New Delhi, where they studied math, science, literature, and music. After completing their high school education in 1996, they attended Ridley College, where they continued to focus on math, science, literature, and music.
In 2002, Amar Singh enrolled at the University of Toronto, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science, though the exact duration of their studies is unknown. Amar then attended Sheridan College, where they completed a Graduate Certificate in Information Technology Professional Program. This program covered topics such as IT management, programming, networking, and databases. The dates of their enrollment at Sheridan College are also unknown.
In 2008, Amar Singh pursued a Master of Environment and Sustainability degree at Western University. Amar studied a range of subjects including environment, sustainability, business, engineering, and ecosystem health. Amar completed this degree in 2009.
More recently, in 2016, Amar Singh attended The University of British Columbia, where they obtained a Master's Degree in Integrated Water Management Engineering Leadership. Amar completed this program in 2017.
In addition to their formal education, Amar Singh has obtained several certifications. In 2009, they became a LEED Accredited Professional in Building Design + Construction from the Green Building Certification Institute. In 2011, they obtained a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute. Finally, in 2015, Amar Singh obtained a Risk Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute, as well as a LEED Accredited Professional certification in Interior Design + Construction from the Green Building Certification Institute.
