Agnès Tyburn

Senior Scientist at Eleven Therapeutics

Agnès Tyburn has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and research institutions. Starting in 2009, they completed an industrial internship at Groupe CARSO-Laboratoire Labexia. In 2010, they worked as a summer research student at Laboratoire COBRA. Agnès then pursued their education, earning a PhD from the University of Southampton in 2013 and another PhD from the University of Oxford in 2016. Following their studies, Agnès joined Illumina as a Scientist I, where they developed synthesis processes and optimized reagents for various sequencing platforms. Agnès later became a Scientist II, leading troubleshooting and improvement efforts for sequencing reagent purification in manufacturing processes. In 2018, Agnès embarked on a new role as CEO of Beesitter CIC, a position which they held when they joined Eleven Therapeutics as a Senior Scientist in 2022. Additionally, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Cambridge from 2021 to 2021, where they designed and conducted experiments related to transmissible RNA and established a laboratory and apiary. From 2006 to 2011, they attended the Institut national des Sciences appliquées de Rouen where they earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Chemistry & chemical engineering.

From 2010 to 2011, they pursued a Master by Research in Organic Chemistry at the Université de Rouen.

Finally, from 2011 to 2016, they attended the University of Oxford where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemical biology.
