Ellen Marie Karas has worked in the advertising industry since 2007. Ellen Marie began their career as an Associate Copywriter at AKQA, where they wrote for Nike Lab, Nike "90 Days" and Visa's "Go World" Olympics campaign. Ellen Marie was also responsible for concept and writing for Xbox's Viva Piñata campaign. In 2010, they moved to Deep Focus as a Copywriter, where they were the lead writer on an award-winning creative team for a leading social agency in New York City. Ellen Marie was responsible for developing the social media "voice" for top brands and conceptualizing engaging campaigns for hundreds of thousands of brand fans. In 2013, they worked as a Freelance Sr. Copywriter for Seamless, where they were the in-house lead writer for all platforms, including print, radio, digital, social, and ecrm initiatives. Ellen Marie also created memorable OOH ads on the NYC subway system. In 2014, they worked as a Freelance Associate Creative Director at 360i, where they refreshed the Skinny Cow brand on social media. In 2015, they worked as a Freelance Sr. Copywriter/ACD for various advertising agencies and direct clients. In 2016, they worked as a Freelance Sr. Copywriter at Wunderman, where they were the lead writer on Sensodyne.com refresh (launched 2019) and lead content writer for Pronamel.com (2018). In 2018, they worked as a Creative Director at Velocity OMC, where they were recruited by the ECD to establish the digital creative department with their co-creative director for a new agency dedicated to Johnson & Johnson brands, specifically Neutrogena and Aveeno. In 2019, they worked as a Freelance Sr. Copywriter for Dragons Group. In 2020, they worked as a Sr. Copywriter at Factor San Francisco. Currently, they are the Creative Director at Elfster.
Ellen Marie Karas graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2004 with a Bachelor in Communication and Anthropology.
