Dr Carlos Javier

Dr. Carlos Javier has a diverse work experience in the renewable energy industry. Dr Carlos is currently the Co-Founder and Managing Director at Elgin Energy Asset Management, where they oversee the development and management of utility-scale solar+storage projects in the UK, Australia, and Ireland.

Prior to that, Dr. Javier co-founded and served as the Managing Director of Solrac Ltd, an engineering company specializing in high-performance Solar PV farms. Dr Carlos was responsible for developing strategic plans and finance models to optimize asset performance.

Dr. Javier also worked at NextEnergy Capital, where they held several positions, including Technical Director, Vice President of Investment, and Investment Manager. In these roles, they supported the investment management activities of the NextEnergy Solar Fund and played a key role in identifying, negotiating, and executing investments in solar energy projects.

Earlier in their career, Dr. Javier served as the Head of Engineering at Lark Energy, where they managed a team of engineers and developed quality tools for designing large-scale solar farms. Dr Carlos also gained experience as an Engineering Manager and Technical Support Engineer at Azur Solar UK, where they analyzed and designed Solar PV systems.

Additionally, Dr. Javier worked as an Investment Analyst Engineer at ESA Renewables, advising investors on photovoltaic and solar thermal projects. Dr Carlos also served as a Responsible Engineer at SVS, overseeing the installation of fire protection and security systems.

Dr. Javier's expertise in renewable energy extends to their work as a Fellowship Researcher of Wind Turbines at the Universidad de Zaragoza, where they conducted research on wind turbine performance and programming.

Earlier in their career, Dr. Javier held the role of Quality Inspector in the metal automotive sector at MAASA.

Dr Carlos Javier has a diverse education history. Dr Carlos obtained a PhD in Energy Efficiency and Renewable from Universidad de Zaragoza, with a focus on remuneration policies on PV markets. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from the same university. Dr Carlos also holds a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering from Universidad de Zaragoza. For further professional development, Dr Javier earned an Executive Master's in Business Administration from ESIC Business & Marketing School and completed a program in Executive Transitions from Esade, specializing in Business Administration and Management.
