Wayne Markowitz has a diverse and extensive work experience. Wayne has held several senior leadership positions in various industries such as fashion apparel, maritime transportation, and professional consulting.
Starting in 1981, Wayne worked for Bristol-Myers Squibb Company/Clairol, Inc. as a financial executive, where they held roles such as Division Controller, Assistant Controller, and Manager of Finance.
In 1991, Wayne joined WaterfordWedgwood U.S.A. as Vice President-Marketing Controller.
From 1992 to 2001, Wayne served as the Executive Vice President-Chief Administrative Officer/Chief Financial Officer at GFT (U.S.A.) Corp., a renowned manufacturer, retailer, and distributor of designer fashion apparel. During their tenure, Wayne successfully orchestrated a business turnaround and restored profitability for the company.
Wayne then founded The Hindsight Group in 2001, a professional financial consulting organization specializing in providing corporate clientele with business solutions. Wayne served as Managing Partner and provided services such as corporate restructuring, growth advisory, financial advisory, and business governance.
In 2008, Wayne joined Neema Clothing Ltd as Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer. Wayne successfully directed a business turnaround and restored profitability for the privately held manufacturer and distributor of men's fashion apparel.
Wayne co-founded Insight Advisory Group in 2011, a professional consulting organization that provided start-up companies with strategy/growth advisory, financial advisory, and business governance. Wayne served as Managing Partner and also worked as interim COO/CFO for No Mas Vello, a retail franchisor of hair removal services.
From 2015 to 2017, Wayne worked as Chief Administrative Officer/Chief Financial Officer at TIDELINE MARINE GROUP, INC., a private-equity backed maritime transportation and logistics company. Wayne played a vital role in positioning Tideline as a major resource in water transportation.
Most recently, Wayne joined Elie Tahari in 2017 as Chief Financial Officer. Their focus has been on stabilizing the capital structure and restoring financial liquidity for the designer, manufacturer, distributor, and retailer of women's apparel and accessories. Wayne has led a comprehensive turnaround plan with a focus on international business development and implementation of a direct-to-consumer strategy.
Wayne Markowitz completed their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A) degree with a specialization in Finance & Marketing from Fordham Gabelli School of Business in 1980.
