Jim Dolbear is President of Elixxir Corp. which is the creator of David Chaum’s Elixxir Blockchain platform. He also established the Voting Systems Institute with Chaum and USC’s Information Sciences Institute and he was a partner in the Perspectiva Fund focused on developing and exploiting breakthrough optical and augmented reality technology. He earlier ran a 20-person executive search and consulting firm, the Larkin Group, focused on the emerging new media and internet industries. He founded the Digital Coast Roundtable with then Mayor Richard Riordan and also ran LAWNMOWER, a tradeshow and publishing company that held events in Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco. His clients included Webex, Sun Microsystems, IAC, Microsoft, Activision, Harcourt Brace, Cisco, Exodus, Warner Brothers, andFox Internet Group.
He was a technology advisor to the State of California and sat on theAdvisory Board of USC’s Integrated Media Systems Center, an NSF research center. Dolbear worked in project finance and mergers & acquisitions at New York investment banks Lehman Brothers and Morgan Stanley. He also worked in corporate finance and cost accounting at Avery Dennison Corporation where he led a world class manufacturing implementation producing a financial impact that was significant enough to warrant an explanatory disclosure footnote in the Avery annual report. He held successively the titles ofJust-in Time Project Manager, Production Manager, Safety Manager and Total QualityManager. Jim was a successful 100% commission salesperson at the Boston franchise of Management Recruiters International where he specialized in transitioning Ph.D.’s into the financial services industry. He is a graduate of Harvard University and he received an MBA from the Yale Schoolof Management.
