Jean Pretz is a Professor of Psychology at Elizabethtown College, a position held since July 2010, where teaching focuses on cognitive psychology, intelligence, creativity, judgment and decision making, and leadership for social change. In addition to academic responsibilities, Jean serves as the Director of the Stamps Scholars Program, overseeing the selection of high-achieving scholars committed to leadership and service. As Chair of the Psychology Department, significant contributions include faculty recruitment, curriculum revision, the development of a neuroscience major, and the initiation of a master's program in counseling psychology. Prior experience includes roles as Associate Professor at Illinois Wesleyan University and Assistant Professor at Yale University. Jean earned a PhD in Psychology from Yale University and holds a BA in Psychology and Music from Wittenberg University.
