Ruan Koen

Ruan Koen is a Cyber Security GRC Officer at Elkem ASA since March 2023, specializing in the development and maintenance of security governance documentation, implementing a cyber security risk management framework, and managing third-party risk and business continuity. Prior to this role, Ruan served as an Assistant Professor at Noroff from August 2019 to February 2023, focusing on research, lecturing, and course development in areas such as Penetration Testing and Information Security Management. Ruan's experience also includes work as a Senior Analyst at KPMG South Africa, where important client engagements involved ICT security assessments and IT governance reviews. Educational credentials include a Master of Information Technology and a Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology, both obtained from Nelson Mandela University. Additionally, Ruan has coaching and umpiring experience in field hockey at various levels.
